RAD Solutions: Sales

Sales

The EFACS Enterprise Sales Order Processing ERP module generates and maintains sales orders from the purchasing & manufacturing processses through to despatch and invoice. Sales Order Processing interfaces with Estimating and Quotations; Product Configurator; Work in Progress; Stock Control; Purchase Order Processing; Master Production Scheduling; Material Requirements Planning; Finite Capacity Planning; Sales Analysis and Sales Ledger.

Forecasts & Schedules

The system gives the User the option to satisfy an order from existing stock, to create a new works order or to create a purchase order. A full sales forecast system is available which may be automatically consumed by firm sales orders. The ordered part may reference a generic forecast part for consumption. Customer schedules may be defined which may also consume sales forecasts. Customer schedules are automatically reduced when goods are despatched against the schedule. Sales orders may either be despatched as a complete order or as individual items.

Delivery Loading

EFACS Enterprise ERP has comprehensive features for dealing with packages for outgoing goods. A package may be assigned to one or more delivery items, and the package given a unique reference. If required, packaging items themselves may be under inventory control. Also, despatches can be assembled into “Loads”. These may have constraints defined against them. For instance, loads to fit a vehicle may be monitored with account taken of such criteria as maximum weight and volume, and a series of packages assembled to create a load for delivery.

Estimating and Quotations

The Estimating and Quotations module is designed to enable efficient sales enquiry logging and quotation generation. Full monitoring facilities are available for outstanding quotations, together with automatic quotation transfer creating firm sales orders upon quotation acceptance. The Estimating and Quotations module is typically used where the Company predominantly manufactures to customer order. Many and various finished saleable items may be produced. Work centre capacity and work centre utilisation coupled with actual costing are usually key business measures within such an organisation. The ability to generate accurate estimated completion dates at the enquiry stage based on finite capacity constraints is a major benefit offered by this module. This module also allows quotations to be simply produced for standard products against established price lists.

Product Configuration

Within Sales, the Product Configurator module offers a rules-based system for building unique products with associated Bills of Materials and Routes. A generic Bill of Materials incorporates features such as colour and size alternatives, power ratings, etc. and accessories such as special fittings or additional kits. A rule system is provided through which the User may define selection logic such as "select up to and including 3 options from the feature set", or "if the product is colour blue then it must be at least 2 metres long". Special, non-standard, additional parts may be entered during the configuration process.
